The Future of Finance Winners

What happens when builders use primitives that don't exist anywhere else?

140+ teams spent months building on Flow as part of the PL Genesis Hackathon, Protocol Labs' Frontiers of Collaboration event. Builders tapped into Flow primitives like Scheduled Transactions, on-chain randomness, and Cross-VM calls to extend existing apps and build new ones from scratch, each going after a real market with an on-chain solution. Their projects offer a glimpse into the future of finance and digital assets, unlocking new forms of wealth generation and management.

By the numbers:

  • 141 projects submitted to the Future of Finance challenge on Flow
  • $10,000 prize pool, distributed equally across 10 winning teams
  • 108 countries represented across the full hackathon (2,477 total participants)

Following the success of Forte Hacks last year, Flow builders once again stepped up for a major hackathon on the network.

Here are the winners.

Note: Not all hackathon projects are production ready for real funds. However many of these top 10 projects are already on mainnet and you can use them today. Use your discretion when interacting with new early-stage products.

VeraPay

Every crypto subscription service to date has depended on centralized keepers, cron jobs, or off-chain relayers to trigger recurring charges, which is why the $1.5T+ global subscription economy has almost no native on-chain presence. VeraPay removes every piece of that off-chain infrastructure by letting Flow itself schedule the billing. VeraPay is an SDK where merchants create billing plans, subscribers approve once, and payments execute automatically. No off-chain keepers. No cron jobs. No centralized relayer risk.

Published on npm as @vera-pay/sdk and deployed on Flow testnet.

AutoPay Protocol

Open source maintainers, creators, and DAOs generate enormous value but lack the billing infrastructure to capture recurring revenue without handing custody to a platform. AutoPay settles sub-cent recurring USDC payments fully on-chain with no custodian. Subscribers set four parameters (merchant address, charge amount, billing interval, spending cap) and the first charge settles atomically at creation. Every constraint is enforced on-chain. After three failed charges, anyone can cancel a policy permissionlessly.

AutoPay also ships with an MCP layer for agentic commerce: LLMs can create checkouts, query policy state, and verify receipts programmatically.

YOLDR

DeFi has wiped out more than $60B in user funds through liquidations since 2020, most of it retail principal that was never meant to be at risk. YOLDR ports the structured product model from TradFi, a $7T+ category, onto Flow, locking principal safely while only the yield enters leveraged positions.

Most DeFi strategies expose a user's entire deposit to market risk. One bad liquidation wipes months of savings. YOLDR separates the two: principal locks in a vault and never touches speculation. Accrued yield funds leveraged positions (BTC, ETH, Gold, or FLOW). If the position wins, the user earns amplified returns on top of their untouched principal. If it loses, the loss is bounded to the yield alone. Vault states and positions can't be duplicated, arbitrarily moved, or destroyed. A gamified layer wraps the mechanics: guardian pet NFTs that evolve through interactions, and badge NFTs recording every trade outcome permanently on-chain.

Dollar House Club

The median US home price has climbed above $420K while the median first-time buyer is now 38, the oldest on record. Dollar House Club applies the no-loss prize savings model (popularized by PoolTogether) to real property, turning a PYUSD deposit into a raffle ticket that never risks the principal. The principal earns yield through Flow lending protocols while the yield progressively buys raffle tickets toward a property's target value. If the yield meets the target, a randomly selected depositor wins the house. If it falls short, a random depositor wins whatever was generated.

Either way, every depositor's principal is returned in full. Nobody loses money entering. It's one of the highest-value, lowest-accessibility asset classes in the world, made participatory in clicks with a deposit and yield.

AutoFi

Dollar-cost averaging outperforms market timing in the vast majority of long-term backtests, but every on-chain DCA tool has required trusting an off-chain keeper to fire transactions. AutoFi makes the chain itself the executor through Scheduled Transactions. No keepers, no bots, no trust assumptions. It supports recurring strategies (DCA, savings, subscriptions, Buy the Dip, Take Profit) where each execution self-schedules the next, creating a perpetual on-chain loop.

Users maintain full custody throughout. Each vault holding funds is a Cadence resource owned by the user's account, not a shared contract balance. Swaps route through IncrementFi (a DEX on Flow) with built-in slippage protection. Strategies are configurable through natural language input or a manual control panel.

Supreme

Polymarket alone now runs at over $100B+ annualized volume, pulling prediction markets into mainstream culture. Yet the dominant interface is still an order book, a deal-breaker for the audience these products are trying to reach. Supreme replaces the book with a spatial grid: players place positions on a live animated grid where distance from the current price determines both risk and payout. Win conditions scale with where you placed, not just whether you called the direction. The result turns BTC/FLOW price prediction into a game where volatility and risk/reward become legible without any prior trading knowledge.

Built on Cadence smart contracts with real-time Binance oracle feeds, on-chain settlement, and Magic.link walletless email login. It demonstrates that prediction markets don't have to look or feel like trading terminals.

Neon Nexus

Neon Nexus is a DeFi yield game built inside Roblox, where 140 million people play daily. Players deposit stablecoins, deploy an AI fund manager agent, and watch it compete against five AI rivals in real time. Agents earn, burn resources, and face liquidation. The last agent standing takes the yield pool.

Smart contracts run in Solidity on Flow EVM. Randomness comes from native on-chain VRF on Flow (no oracle needed). Players never see a seed phrase; Privy server wallets handle key management invisibly. Agent decision-making runs on Groq LLaMA 3.3 70B, and the Roblox client features a procedurally generated cyberpunk city.

The result: DeFi inside a game that 140 million people already play every day.

Alexandria Library

Not all digital assets are monetary. America has documented nearly 23,000 US school book bans since 2021, with more than 10,000 instances in the 2023-24 school year alone. Alexandria Library digitally preserves essential cultural works in a way where no government, institution, or court has the keys to remove them. Every book, chapter, and curatorial note is stored immutably on-chain, with no central operator capable of editing or removing content, forming a censorship-resistant archive that outlasts any single institution.

An AI librarian named Zen (deployed at its own Flow address, powered by xAI Grok) can query the live catalog, recite passages, and maintain a persistent on-chain journal. Governance runs through a Flow-based DAO with soulbound founder NFTs for tracking donations and participation.

Vaultopolis

Vaultopolis unblocks millions in liquidity for collectors of the world's top collections: NBA Top Shot, NFL All Day, and Disney Pinnacle. It offers market intelligence across platforms with a unified view, a fast path to liquidity so collectors can engage in DeFi, and portfolio valuation.

The analytics engine has already processed 611 million+ events across all collection editions and delivers 80+ metrics per edition (floor price, median listing, average sale, supply breakdowns, liquidity scores, deal detection). The TSHOT Token Exchange provides instant liquidity: deposit any NBA Top Shot moment, receive 1 TSHOT fungible token immediately. Burn 1 TSHOT to redeem a random moment. TSHOT trades on PunchSwap DEX, creating a floor price mechanism backed by real collectibles.

AiSports

The US fantasy sports services sector is a $10.3B market, and operators like FanDuel and DraftKings hold entry fees in their treasuries for the entire contest window, earning yield players never see. AiSports is a daily fantasy sports platform that's been running on Flow for four NBA seasons. During the hackathon, they rebuilt the financial layer of AiSports around DeFi principles so that contest entry fees no longer sit idle. All deposits go into More Markets (a vaults platform) via Scheduled Transactions. While the contest runs, those funds earn yield. When it ends, both principal and accrued interest are distributed to winners, giving AiSports structurally lower fees and larger prize pools without changing anything about how players draft lineups.

Players sign in with Google via Privy, enter with stablecoins, and interact with a web2-style interface. The platform has hosted hundreds of contests for thousands of unique users already.
